Theses
General information
Below you will find general information on the supervision of theses at our department. Please also note the further specific information for Bachelor's and Master's theses.
In your thesis at our chair, you will deal with an economic question in detail according to scientific standards. You can analyze this question through detailed literature work, i.e. independently and critically summarize, compare and evaluate existing literature. Alternatively, you can also carry out your own empirical research in addition to the literature work. However, if you wish to write an empirical paper, we recommend that you have good prior knowledge in the field of econometrics and in the use of data analysis software such as R or Stata.
The topics we supervise generally cover the areas of economics covered by the chair in the areas of teaching and research:
- International economics / foreign trade
- regional economics
- finance
- Innovation economics
- labor market economics
The thesis can be written in German or English.
Ideally, please apply with your own (more or less concrete) topic suggestions.
